About the Item

Wonderfully Inlaid Biedermeier Center Table Late 19th Century This is a very handsome late 19th century dining or center table with a mesmerizingly beautiful inlaid top. A great classical design, but due to the subtleness of the ornamentation and the wonderful veneers it is a timeless piece and can be used in a wide array of interior styles. A true conversation piece - would make a smashing center table with some nice flowers on top. This table comes in a very original and honest condition. As can be seen in the pictures the tables shows old veneer repairs, some missing pieces of veneer, a slightly warped base and marks and spots due to age and use. Overall, it still is a marvelous piece. About ORNAMENTUM ORNAMENTUM - where we find perfection in imperfection, love a good patina and are always on the lookout for wonderful and unique pieces both vintage and antique. We are based in Belgium near the Dutch border.

Biedermeier 19th Century Cherrywood Dining Table/ Center Table, Austria ca. 1830
Located in Lichtenberg, AT
Charming round Biedermeier dining/ center table from the renowed period in Austria around 1830. A wonderful handcrafted 19th century so-called "vase table" standing on an artfully designed, bulbous cherry veneered base. The absolutely amazing looking round table plate impresses with fine mirrormatched cherrywood which builds an outstanding pattern. An around 2" inch wide nutwood veneered frame on the outside, adorned by additional inlayed maple thread builds the perfect contrast. The highlight of this remarkable Biedermeier table is the inlay work in the center: an ebonized round field with a lovely floral design and the German words taken from the Lord´s Prayer: "unser tegliches Brot gib uns heute" - meaning: "give us this day our daily bread...
