Block Coffee Table in straw marquetry technique
Block Coffee Table is a handcrafted piece by Ruda Studio, made in Ukraine using the traditional straw marquetry technique. Each segment of the surface is composed of individually dyed and flattened rye straw, meticulously inlaid by hand. This results in a natural, iridescent finish and a tactile, geometric pattern unique to each table. The color scheme and dimensions can be customized upon request, as the straw is hand-painted in the studio, allowing for full creative control over the final look. The sculptural, monolithic shape gives the piece its name Block and reflects a refined balance between modern design and artisanal tradition. Designed and produced entirely by Ruda Studio, this table is both a functional object and a collectible work of contemporary craft.

RUDA Studio
RUDA is a multidisciplinary design studio, was founded by Oleksandra Rudenko and Yuriy Vovnyanko in Odesa, Ukraine. The main focus of the studio — space design and the creation of unique household items. During the creation process, we seek to make each project individual and special, focusing on feelings, custom items, and the combination of the historical and the modern. RUDA Studio researches folk artisans' techniques of our country of origin, we decided to bring traditional marquetry to contemporary use. "Our projects are about returning to the origins. We strive to restore the value of handicrafts and individual products. In our subjects we update the topics of conservation of the Earth's natural resources and human interaction with nature," says the studio's founder Oleksandra Rudenko.
