Early 20th Century Two-tiered Baroque Venetian Tripod Dessert Table in Walnut
About the Item
Delicious and important two-tiered Venetian tripod dessert table in Venetian Baroque style from the Della Torre family in Rezzonico, Lake Como. In blond walnut Hand-carved in the early 1900s, with the two triangular-shaped tops covered in walnut veneer applied in a sunburst pattern; superb engravings of the three legs of the upper triangular plane, lower plane of triangular shape, which rises gracefully on carved cabriolet legs and ending on curly feet.
Sophisticated and elegant, with comfortable warmth, as attractive as it is functional, the beautiful antique, circa 1900, can be used in many different ways, including as a side table, central gueridon, tea table, cupcake cocktail server, dining room dumbwaiter, bedside table or as a charming accent piece.

From the heirs of the Della Torre family of Rezzonico, on Lake Como
History , curiosity and provenance of this item:
Table from the last heir of ancient noble family “Della Torre di Rezzonico”. This branch of the family is originally from the village of Rezzonico on Como Lake. Andrea Erecco Della Torre would be the ancestor that gave origin to the Della Torre Rezzonico family. In 1640 Aurelio Della Torre moved to Venice in order to pursue the trade. Amassed immense fortunes which he bequeathed to his nephews Giovanni Battista and Quintigliano who obtained the Venetian nobility. Giovanni Battista married a lady of Venice and from marriage was born on March 7, 1693 Carlo Rezzonico, who in 1753 became Pope (Clemente XIII). Registered in the Court of Arms of Government Lombardo on November 20, 1769.
