About the Item
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Glass and Ormolu coffee table. This stunning table is raised by two triangular legs with concave sides and rounded ends. Each wide based leg is supported on circular berried foliate designed feet. Above the base are three pierced scrolling supports displaying laurel bands and foliate decorations with a mottled central fut which leads to an urn accented with swaging berried foliate garlands. Atop the urn is a fluted socle that supports the oval glass top above. The glass top has patterned cuts along the outer edge and is adorned with two Ormolu acorn top finials above each leg.
