About the Item

This antique low table was crafted in the Meiji Era (1868–1912). Made entirely of zelkova wood (keyaki), the table showcases a richly textured surface that has deepened in character over time. The gracefully designed legs are a notable feature, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the period and adding both strength and elegance to the overall form. In traditional Japanese living spaces, furniture was designed for floor-seated use, which is why this table has a lower height than Western-style tables. Its proportions make it ideal not only as a center or coffee table, but also as a flower stand or display surface. Though simple in form, it has a quiet presence that brings a sense of depth and harmony to any setting. Minor signs of aging contribute to its unique charm, telling the story of a piece that has matured beautifully over time. Cleaned and disinfected with non-toxic solution. We have conducted a meticulous check for any broken or damaged areas, and the result is absolutely problem-free. It is in excellent condition.
