About the Item

This low table was crafted in the late Meiji era (1868-1912). Reflecting Japan’s floor-seated culture, it features a lower height than standard tables. The tabletop is made from a single piece of keyaki wood, showcasing its beautiful grain. The drawers and side panels are crafted from chestnut wood, contributing to its solid construction. The table has developed a beautiful patina over time, with a stunning, aged color that adds depth and charm. It is a practical and elegant piece that can serve as a center table or lowboard, perfect for various spaces. As an antique piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time. Cleaned and disinfected with non-toxic solution.
