This imposing coffee table is a rare and authentic piece with exceptional character. The tabletop is crafted from a 6 cm thick threshold stone dating back to the 17th century, sourced from the heart of Burgundy. All four original, hand-carved edges of this antique stone have remained intact, showcasing the craftsmanship of centuries past. Natural wear over the years has given the surface a rich texture and an unparalleled presence.
The base consists of two robust architectural elements – also made from Burgundian stone – each featuring an authentic profile on one side. All six sides of the stone legs are entirely hand-worked in their original shape, without modern saw marks, preserving the historical integrity of the piece.
This coffee table embodies the wabi-sabi aesthetic: beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and natural aging. A unique object that serves not only as a functional table but also as a work of art with soul and history.
