Oval-Shaped Petrified Wood Slab Coffee Table on Iron Base
About the Item
An impressive petrified wood top and iron base coffee table. This custom coffee table has been fashioned from a large and primarily oval-shaped single petrified wood which has been smoothly polished and retains its live edge. This exquisite slab specimen of petrified wood, with its neutral palette of cream, taupe, tan, and black, has been raised and supported by a custom black/bronze toned iron base consisting of four straight & squared legs, each braced with a cross stretcher at ground level between them. Petrified wood is a fossil, which over time, becomes so sturdy and dense that it is as heavy as marble, making it both an aesthetically pleasing and durable option for furniture. Note that this piece is quite heavy, the petrified wood top alone weighing approximately 168 kgs -which is just over 370 pounds!
