About the Item
An amazing and historical piece of cocktail table by Rene Drouet that have been documented in several publications.
This French gilt cocktail coffee table by Rene Drouet surprisingly still owns its original églomisé mirrored top created by Pierre Adrien Ekman. Beautiful ornamental forged iron curved gilt legs on red metal surface. Unlike other similar tables by the designer where the original glass tops had been replaced with clear glass tops, this one still holds the original silver gilt leaf surface and gold gilt leaf exotic birds and flowers after 80 years! There is a supported wooden frame in between the base and the glass top which levels it with the iron frame, the wooden frame is indistinctly signed.

Condition: Good original condition.
WEAR: Wear consistent with age and use. Minor scratches, fading or discoloration on the metal frame. The silver leaf on the glass is worn out on certain parts of the under-surface, one or two small chips . The corners had previously been taped and the glue is visible in the pictures but that now has been removed.
