About the Item

Shattered table maxi by Daniel Nikolovski One of a kind piece Dimensions: W 97 x D 53 x H 32 cm Also available in W 68 x D 40 x H 27 cm. Materials: Serpentino Marble Matt Leftover shattered marble pieces turned into functional coffee tables. In order to make one, few straight cuts were made onto the marble pieces, then the broken edge was slightly softened for safety. This design is going back to the most simplest way of constructing a furniture piece and is looking at prehistoric periods. The ‘Sepentino’ green marble used is opaque, accentuating the imperfections and rendering it even more materic. Daniel Nikolovski (1992) is a Macedonian-born interior and furniture designer, currently living and working in Milan, Italy. His work is narrative-driven and is characterised by the use of sculptural geometries, altering proportions, expressed through rich range of materials such as: steel, resin, tortoiseshell acetate, boldly-patterned woods and fabrics used in the fashion industry. An alumni of Istituto Europeo di Design (BA) - Milan and a graduate of the Royal College of Art (MA) - London, some of his past work experiences include: Creative Direction and Design for the furniture brand KABINET, Verona (2019), Set Design for the exhibition Designing Craft / Crafting Design, Vienna (2017), Interior Design for NCDA, Hong Kong (2015). Throughout his career, he has presented his work at Salone del Mobile, FIAC (Paris), Paris Design Week, Offsite Online (NY) and Vienna Design Week. Daniel’s work has been published in Elle Decoration, Marie Claire Maison, AD and The New York Times.

Missisquoi 01 is a numbered and asymmetrical two part coffee or cocktail table, with a space that divides it as the river divides the Missisquoi Valley. The black ashwood was felled, milled and dried near the studio, and the stone is from the river's banks. The stone and plank that support the two parts form a continuous axis end to end, through the divide. The beauty of the Brutalist natural stone contrasts and converses with the delicate craftsmanship of the wood plateau...
