About the Item
Vintage brutalist coffee table by Marcus Kingma from 1985.
This table is a handmade design by Marcus Kingma. As the son of sculptor Paul Kingma, he grew up making these tables and later developed his own style, aimed at the German market, making his designs rarer in the Netherlands. The round top consists of a playful composition of natural stone in different colours, bronze and concrete, artfully inlaid in a mosaic-like pattern. This gives the table a sharply defined brutalist character with a sculptural appearance. The table is signed ‘M. Kingma 85’ (see photos).

Marcus Kingma
Marcus Kingma was the brother of Paul Kingma, who started making tables in the 1960s. Kingma helped his brother in making tables at the end of his career and eventually started making tables on his own during the 1980s and 1990s.
