Allowing for maximum chair clearance, if you're looking to maximize seating, this is the table. Sporting a stunning view of end grain on the legs at the perpendicular connection. The Georgia table is constructed (shown in Black Walnut) in solid 2" thick, double tennon joinery, and finished in a food safe, scratch resistant, stain resistant all natural hard wax oil.
The Georgia table is intended for easy living and maintenance, many family meals, and a work of art to last a lifetime.

Tribal Blackened Oak and Steel Table by Autonomous Furniture

The Tribal Table uses large scale hot-rolled steel, the concept, albeit not literal, is for the front of the table to represent the bow of a ship, and the back legs the rudder. These 3/8” thick hot-rolled steel legs are not symmetrical but rather slightly offset to deliver tension between the fore and aft ends. Designer Kirk Van Ludwig chooses metal plate that has natural patina during the rolling process, showing hints of mill scale and deep colour revealing depth and story, inspired by massive ocean freightliners.
The Tribal tabletop in torched and fumed oak uses ancient Japanese shou-sugi-ban technique with a proprietary finish developed at Autonomous Furniture for a lifelong finish.
The Tribal table is equally suitable as a dramatic dining table or elevated home office desk.

Chic Herman Miller Everywhere vintage modern table with natural oak wood veneer and rounded square black metal legs by Dan Grabowski. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. This fabulous modern style table is comprised of a round top wearing a natural oak wood veneer and four black metal legs in an unusual almost “squircle” (YES, it’s a real shape!!) or rounded square legs. It is just the right table to use at the office, in your dining area or breakfast nook, or in the game room, and its versatile enough to host many styles of office or dining chairs from traditional to mid-century modern and everywhere in-between. This is a TITANIC of a table!!! Lol… It’s super large!! It is comprised of gorgeous oak veneer with solid oak applied to both ends… kind of a modified trestle style dining table with slab legs, and beautiful bullnose edge on said top and legs. The added solid oak ends are separated from the veneered top by a narrow-blackened groove which sets this detail off nicely. It is absolutely stunning!! It is a colossal 96 inches long and seats eight comfortably, but you may fit ten if the chairs are a bit narrower or you straddle the legs. The legs are recessed 6.5 inches, so straddling is not a large obstacle. In addition, although the natural oak is beautiful, we can also see this being ebonized with a little black dye. Incredible!!! It will be fabulous in your dining room or as a lovely conference table at the office! It is modern in style, but it will host oodles of options of dining or office chairs! We have LOTS of chairs...

The evolution of floor plans and office furniture such as desks or office chairs shows how the workplace has changed over the years. One trend in the 20th century was the open floor plan, which was pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright. The profoundly influential architect’s design for the 1936 office building for SC Johnson Wax was an early example. Soon, major American furniture manufacturers would take aim at creating furnishings for the workplace.
In 1942, Herman Miller, anticipating a postwar economic boom, began making office furniture for the first time, while at Knoll, a special office-focused division created by Florence Knoll in the mid-1940s designed office spaces for the likes of GM and CBS.
Open-floor-plan offices became mainstream by the mid-century as a way to reflect a company’s values. Working in an open space meant that employees were equal and the design was aimed at improving communication and cooperation. The conference table was key to this vision. Businesses with an open floor plan needed a place for meetings and this ensured that the conference table and conference room became staples of the modern office.
A round conference table is egalitarian and informal, getting people to participate and share ideas. A rectangular conference table is more structured, allowing executives to sit at the end of the table to conduct the meeting.
