About the Item

A 19th century French Louis Philippe style bureau plat, or desk, made of solid and veneer of mahogany. Double sided, the back has false drawers so this desk may be free floated in a room. Four dovetailed drawers with brass escutcheons, working locks and one key. Interior compartment inside the righthand drawer with working lock and key. Large writing surface with additional 10.5" pull-out extensions on each side. Leather top with gold embossed trim. Decorative turned fluted legs. Sturdy and well-crafted. Oak as a secondary wood.
