Early 19th Century William IV Period Mahogany Library Writing Table

About the Item

A Very Fine Early 19th-Century William IV Period Mahogany Partners Library Writing Table This exquisite writing table is constructed from solid mahogany and features a rectangular top with rounded moulded corners, showcasing a beautifully black tooled leather inset. Beneath the top are four mahogany-lined drawers—two on each side—comprising one dummy drawer and one working drawer on each side. All drawers retain their original working locks and come with a functioning key. The elegant table is raised on end supports, featuring solid rectangular carved platform bases that end on scrolled feet with original concealed brass castors. These elements are all joined by a turned, tapering stretcher. Made in England circa 1835, this writing table boasts a rich mahogany brown colour and is in superb original condition.
