About the Item

This rare and exquisite French Modern neoclassical Campaign desk or writing table by Maison Jansen is a master work of design and craftsmanship balancing form, function with a subtle color balance of dark mahogany and antiqued brass. It blends a sober, modern approach with a daring neoclassical structure centered upon its dramatic X-frame legs and stretcher. To complete the composition, the feet and corners are capped in handmade brass hardware and the two large drawers are inset with brass door pulls. The piece unites an elegant neoclassical form with pure, modern lines and its compact Size allows functionality in any environment. It is a modern masterpiece.
