Exceptionally rare executive corner writing desk or vanity table branded Dominique, Paris. This beyond beautiful Art Deco period French writing table by Maison Dominique was designed by the French duo André Domin (1883-1962) & Marcel Genevrière (1885-1967), better known as Dominique. Entirely veneered in precious woods, showing inlaid angular parquetry on top- boasts two capacious cabinets with doors flanking a large knee-hole area, an open shelf unit on the left side for plenty of storage space, furthermore the niches that open on the apron offer more space for documents, books or magazines storage. The stunning design of this vintage desk is enriched by an additional removable compartment placed on the desk top, this two doors shelf unit opens to reveal a letterbox or glove compartment and can also serve as a convenient shelf or support surface thanks to its wide triangular shaped top. This stunning corner executive desk or angular writing table is fitted with original handles, knobs, locks and working key in silver-colored chromed metal with sophisticated geometrical shapes typical of the Art Deco period. An Art Deco desk that is an example of high cabinetry, the two side compartments with door are finished at the top with a rounded shape and embellished with geometric inserts of small silver metal strips that are also repeated on the feet. A quirky design piece of furniture of very high quality and craftsmanship. This French one of a kind veneer bureau features two embossed brand marks “Dominique Paris” behind. The desk is in perfect structural condition and in quite overall perfect condition showing only a minor wood dimple on the left side as showed in the last picture that can be restored on request. Professional hand French polish that gives this corner writing table a lavish glossy the appearance and enhances the wonderful wood grain and flamed color. This high end French design vintage piece can also serve as striking writing table, vanity table, vanity desk, small bureau, ladies desk, entry table, small cabinet, as a bespoke item in a bedroom, home office or study The decorating firm of Dominique was established in 1922 at 104 Faubourg Saint-Honore, Paris. Co-founded by Andre Domin, a self-taught artist, and Marcel Genevriere, a trained architect, the partnership got off to a resounding and rapid start. Within a year they were advertising a wide range of carpets, fabrics, furniture, and wrought iron. Dominique's enduring designs are characterized by rectilinear lines paired with smooth curves to accommodate the human form. The duo preferred materials such as precious woods, bronze, and copper inlay. Their furniture design was characterized by simplicity and dignity.

This beautiful high quality Italian 18th century antique original Louis XVI period fold over game table is made of precious woods. This wonderful French 18th century demilune (half moon) shaped sideboard or chest of drawers dating back to Louis XVI period (1774 -1791) -stamped by the French cabinet maker Tondeur- features great scale, perfect proportions and stunning high craftsmanship marquetry inlays. Two spacious sans travers drawers on front with antique original cast bronze hand crafted handles and a door on each side revealing a compartment with a shelf, all rests on four square tapered legs with a luxuriously veined Italian marble top featuring a beautiful grain and gorgeous soft colors including different shades of red, yellow, ocher, white and brown. This one of a kind magnificently inlaid commode featuring mother of pearl and bone inserts to enrich the central design and the allegories of music on the sides wich are a marquetry and cabinetmaking works of art themselves. The front houses two drawers with veneered sans travers marquetry with a central medallion masterfully inlaid depicting an unusual and whimsical scene: a fairy-tale rural countryside landscape with an old building that appears to be a church in the background, surrounded by a picturesque avenue of cypress and a monkey in the foreground picking up cocoa fruits from a tree - symbols of good luck and fortune- with a dog at its side. The round panel is finished with oval mother-of-pearl inserts, a ribbon inlaid on top all surrounded by a wreath of flowers and leaves . The inlays on the side doors are equally beautiful, so detailed as to seem painted. On each door, the marquetry is inspired by the theme of music, allegories with both wind and string instruments, sheet music and a hat all gathered in a magical composition enriched by floral inspired festoons, ribbons and tassels. The casework inside shows the mastery of the cabinetmaker and attention to detail, the doors are made of precious citronnier wood framed by an ebony band. This commode of narrow proportion is a wonderful example of 18th century French craftsmanship in storage cabinet making, entirely inlaid, stamped it is an exclusive one-of-a-kind Louis XVI period work of art certainly created for a very demanding and important client now ready to be the antique conversation...
