Organic Modern Accent Home Office Writing Desk Black Oak Wood and Copper Effect
About the Item
Inspired by the Sacred Ceiba trees in Havana, Joao Faria created the stunning Roots Home Office Desk for contemporary home offices. It is handcrafted using carefully selected wood veneers, metals, and materials. Rather than being placed against a wall, it should be admired from all angles in the middle of the room. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture.
The Roots Collection also includes a coffee table, mirrors, consoles, and screens. Each piece is handmade by order, so we can manufacture it in endless combinations.
This piece is entirely made in Portugal and artisanally by the author. Its manufacturing process is time-consuming because, among other complex operations, every wood insert is drawn, cut and fitted on the metal structure without the use of machinery. After the final wood shapes are ready, the tabletop is assembled and crafted using carefully selected wood veneers with natural patterns or a lacquered finish. The author himself chooses the wood veneer leaves and bookmatches them to achieve the best result in the piece. The final finish on the wood is a varnish to enhance the wood's natural beauty or to protect the lacquer.
The metal structure supporting the tabletop, which appears to be floating, is made from very thick and resistant steel, stainless steel, or brass, according to the final version of the desk.
This listing is for a desk mastercrafted of carefully selected black oak wood, and a thick structure in lacquered steel with an "Industrial Chic" copper effect.
However, we can manufacture it in customised options:
Tabletop: It can be in different lacquer colours or wood veneers, such as ironwood, black oak, tineo, and ebony macassar. The wood finish can be matt, satin or high-gloss.
Structure: You can choose between stainless steel, brass, or lacquered steel. The stainless steel and the brass can be finished in three different ways: polished, brushed, or in an "Industrial Chic" style. These finishes are handmade by the author. The "Industrial Chic" is also handmade by the author, making every piece truly unique. The lacquered steel can be in any RAL colour.
The desk has two discrete drawers, in a different wood veneer, which adds a surprising touch.
Upon request, it can also include discrete cabling access (USB and electrical plugs) and a wireless charging point for your mobile phone.

This piece is assembled and delivered in a wooden box wrapped in bubble wrap.
