About the Item

Rare and Unusual Antique English hand-carved solid mahogany and leather top Campaign Writing Table or Desk with kidney-shaped drop leaves or flaps. The desk has a flip-top fitted rear with stationary slots, pen tray, double glass inkwells with brass lids all neatly concealed at the rear of the top beneath a hand carved fan. The desk retains its original "Aesthetic Movement" pierced brass handles, original brass casters and a likely later-replaced tooled and gilt edge leather writing surface. A truly original and unique small scaled writing table. 23.5 inches wide (closed, flaps down), 42 inches wide (open) 27.5" high (to top of rear), 19.25 inches deep. 22.5 inch kneehole clearance
