Very Fine 1920s Leather Top Desk or Sofa Table
About the Item
A very fine 1920s mahogany desk or sofa table finely carved and of fabulous quality with rich patination and fine grain. The moulded top with reeded edge of rectangular form fitted with a gorgeous green gilt embossed tooled leather writing skiver surface, above twin cockbeaded drawer frieze with decorative brass swan neck handles with foliate and scroll motifs, flanked with further decorative brass detail of masque and foliate motifs to the sides. Raised over two finely carved lyre supports conjoined with turned stretcher above elegant, reeded sabre leg terminating on finely cast brass lion paw toe caps and casters.
