About the Item

This is an elegant dining set comprising an antique George III Regency Period dining table, Circa 1820 in date, with a fabulous set of ten Barback dining chairs. The table has two additional leaves and is raised on twin "gun barrel" turned columns on quadruple reeded swept leg bases which are fitted with brass claw feet and castors. The table top is of beautiful flame mahogany  and there is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining table which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times. The delightful set of set of ten Regency Revival Bar Back dining chairs date from the second half of the 20th century. Masterfully hand crafted in beautiful solid flame mahogany, the finish and attention to detail on display are truly breathtaking. The set comprises eight side chairs and two armchairs. They all feature  attractive hand carved bar back design with  'drop in' seats that have been upholstered in a fabulous cream and azure damask fabric, the elegant tapered legs are turned and reeded. There is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining set which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times THE BOTANICAL NAME FOR THE MAHOGANY THAT THIS ITEM IS MADE OF IS SWIETENIA MACROPHYLLA AND THIS TYPE OF MAHOGANY IS NOT SUBJECT TO CITES REGULATION AND DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY RESTRICTED MATERIALS. Condition: In excellent condition the table having been beautifully cleaned and waxed and the chairs upholstered and polished  in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation. Matching his words to his work, Sheraton designed much mahogany furniture. The qualities that impressed Sheraton are particularly evident in a distinctive pattern of wood called "flame mahogany."
