A beautiful Italian Art Deco piece from the 1940s where every curve and line appears to the result of a careful negotiation between elegance and utility. The tabletop itself is a stretched oval with gentle curves at the ends; a soft and inviting shape that also contributes a sense of continuity and flow. The visual grain of the cherry veneer runs longitudinally, distinguished by its striking variation of warm and darker tones. Two pedestal bases form the foundation marked by a complex layering of geometric shapes; cylindrical, grooved, and tapering towards the ground. Splayed legs are capped in brass, introducing a contrast in both material and color while maintaining a refined appearance.
