19th Century French Louis XVI Carved and Painted Oval Dining Room Table
About the Item
Decorate a dining room with this exceptional antique painted table. Crafted in France circa 1860 and oval in shape, the large table stands on four tapered and fluted legs decorated with acanthus leaf motifs at the shoulders. The carved apron is embellished with floral rosette medallions over each leg and decorated with a large carved floral motif on each side between the legs. The wide surface is dressed with a faux marble top decorated with a large star motif in the center, and a thick band of lighter color around the perimeter. The almost nine-foot Louis XVI style table is in excellent condition and adorns a wonderful textured painted finish in the light grey/blue palette. A one of a kind that would sit 8 to 12 people comfortably. A beautiful set of 10 chairs and armchairs are also available to suit the table ( #232-368)
