Antique English Victorian Mahogany Extending Dining Table and 4 Leaves, Seats 16

About the Item

A super quality antique Victorian mahogany wind-out extending dining table with four additional leaves and standing on six substantial legs. This large 4ft9 wide table smoothly extends from 6ft to 13ft 8in by means of a double ‘screw expander’ winding mechanism allowing it to seat up to 14-16 people with all the leaves in place. With a thumb moulded edge to the top and plain frieze below it stands on six heavy acanthus carved turned and fluted legs with brass caps and brown porcelain castors. In a rich reddish mahogany colour this table has been sympathetically cleaned and waxed using traditional hand methods and the mechanism serviced. Regency English Mahogany Antique Extending Dining Table
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A fine quality late regency period mahogany extending dining table retaining exceptional colour and patina to well figured top with two original removable leaves raised on elegant turned and fluted legs with superbly carved corner patrae & original brass castors (With a whole plethora of options available in terms of antique dining tables it can be an absolute mine field trying to decide which suits each individual purpose. Another advantage of this design is that there is just the 4 corner legs which allow maximum flexibility in terms of chair and human leg...
