About the Item

Barca Cassina Dining Table in Cherry Wood: An Exemplar of Design Excellence We are pleased to present the Barca Cassina dining table, a distinguished piece of furniture meticulously crafted from premium cherry wood veneer and some solid parts. Designed by the eminent Piero De Martini, this table epitomizes a harmonious blend of modern sophistication and timeless elegance, making it an ideal addition to any refined dining environment. The specified depth refers to the extended version; when folded, the measurement is 74 cm. About the Designer: Piero De Martini Born in Milan in 1939, where he graduated in Architecture in 1964. He began to devote himself to the freelance profession in the field of residential construction and conservative restoration. From 1969 he began to deal with design and in 1975 he began to collaborate with Cassina. From this collaboration the well-known "La Barca" program was born, elements in natural ash that make up sofas, tables, beds. His particular working method has always been based on a close collaboration between designers, craftsmen and Art Directors right from the moment of defining the prototypes. He later designed other products for Cassina and for other companies in the sector, with particular dedication to home furnishings, appreciated and reported in various publications and exhibitions. In addition to his work as a designer, De Martini studied piano and became a musicologist out of passion.
