About the Item
This dining chair in mid-century modern style ("Gazelle High-Back" chair) is hand crafted to the highest quality by Nathan Hunter in Bloomington, Indiana. It features all solid hardwood construction with a carved seat and perfectly contoured back that make for unparalleled comfort.
Every detail is obsessively attended to by our craftspeople, from the silky-smooth satin finish to the subtle profile of the edge work. Vanishing chamfers flank the hourglass-shaped back. Each leg is elegantly tapered, adding a visual lightness to this robustly constructed piece. And the optional contrasting maple center stripe tapers from the front of the seat to align with the stripe of the back. See our Gazelle High-Back Walnut listing for the option without center stripe.
The Gazelle High-Back chair can be purchased in pairs, or as a full set of any quantity desired. Also available with arms (see our Gazelle High-Back Armchair). Each chair is made to order in our Bloomington, Indiana studio and shipped to you worldwide.
Seat height is approximately 18-3/4 at the front (measured to the outer border of the seat) and declines subtly toward the back. With the carved contours, the seat height is perfect for a standard 29-31 inch table height.
