About the Item

When I designed the DIVIDED LANDS table in 2004, I had no idea that it would become one of the defining pieces of my collection and of my career. It’s popularity spans across multiple continents with commissions by Louis Vuitton, celebrated designers and private collectors in cities such as Vienna, Paris, Riyadh, Hong Kong and New York. The fabrication of this piece is a form of art and technically very difficult- the signature patinas of Roeper are created with a proprietary technique using acids to etch multiple layers and colors into the zinc. This application is unique and cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world, making these tables very rare and collectible. The surface is sealed with a very durable clear lacquer which protects the patinas from spills and daily use. In conversations with my clients who have purchased this piece over the years, I’ve noticed a recurring reaction of them being deeply touched in an inexplicable way and I often hear them say: “I have been looking for the right table for a very long time and as soon as I saw this, I knew it was the one!” I believe that all people who are drawn to this piece in a special kind of way share this in common: an appreciation for patina, texture and geometric shapes, and on a deeper level, an understanding of the powerful concepts of “home” and “place” which shape our past, present and future into a world of divided lands. Shown in Etched Zinc and Ebonized Walnut. 120”x42”x29”. Custom sizes available.

The Pewter collection is a family of furniture pieces defined by their materiality and formal qualities. Brutalist Cast Metal Geometric Dining Table in the Manner of Paul Evans
By Paul Evans
Located in Culver City, CA
This table is absolutely gorgeous. It's a cast metal body with what a cold cast bronze outer shell. This one of a kind, custom piece came out of an estate in the Pacific Palisades filled with the most incredible furniture by Paul Evans, Daniel Gluck and Italian designer pieces. Unfortunately we have been unable to identify the creator of this piece, but it is very much in the style of Paul Evans and his cold cast bronze line for Directional. The table base measures 56" L x 24" D x 28.25" T. The glass on the table base is also custom, 3/4" thick with docked corners for a very unique look when up close and personal. This table is remarkably sturdy, and very heavy. This unique table would also look incredible as a writing desk. This incredible table is currently in the gallery paired with like designer pieces by Paul Evans, and Silas Seandel, but would also look wonderful paired with more contemporary pieces like Milo Baughman thin line chairs...

Tribal Blackened Oak and Steel Table by Autonomous Furniture
By Autonomous Furniture, Kirk Van Ludwig
Located in Victoria, BC
The Tribal Table uses large scale hot-rolled steel, the concept, albeit not literal, is for the front of the table to represent the bow of a ship, and the back legs the rudder. These 3/8” thick hot-rolled steel legs are not symmetrical but rather slightly offset to deliver tension between the fore and aft ends. Designer Kirk Van Ludwig chooses metal plate that has natural patina during the rolling process, showing hints of mill scale and deep colour revealing depth and story, inspired by massive ocean freightliners. The Tribal tabletop in torched and fumed oak uses ancient Japanese shou-sugi-ban technique with a proprietary finish developed at Autonomous Furniture for a lifelong finish. The Tribal table is equally suitable as a dramatic dining table or elevated home office desk. Modern blackened wood and raw steel table...
