About the Item

An early c.18th, oak gateleg dining table. Featuring solid oak construction throughout. Oval shaped, quality oak top, the drop leaves are supported by double gatelegs on each side. The substructure consists of scalloped frieze to both ends, turned supports with blocks on short turned feet, adjoined with conforming stretchers. Peg jointed construction. An extremely heavy table, made from early, very high quality English oak. In good condition. Comfortably seating 8 people, and maybe couple more at a push. Serviced, cleaned, waxed and very much ready for use. Dimensions: This table measures approximately 77 cm (30") tall, 196 cm (77.125") wide leaves up, and 63 cm (24.75") wide leaves down, 155 cm (61") deep. Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in a good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. No loose joints. There are a few small marks and blemishes. There are a couple of small repairs to the top, and one foot has been replaced. Carefully serviced in our workshop, sensitively cleaned, waxed and now very much ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
