About the Item

This rare Merlino dining table comes directly from the home of a high-ranking Fontana Arte executive in Milan and is a very rare model. The crystal plate structure with nickel-plated brass joints is the very essence of glass and its physical characteristics, with a transverse strength that can support a large beveled glass top. The glass is thus the undisputed protagonist, accompanied only by a nickel-plated brass joint specially shaped to be discreet, functional and aesthetically part of a light and elegant overall figure. The dining table is also versatile, with the possibility of positioning the supports at a closer distance to increase the space at the head of the table. An exceptional and delicate piece that encompasses the pinnacle of Italian glass art in which Fontana Arte, founded by Gio Ponti and Luigi Fontana, was the indisputable protagonist.
