Italian 19th Century Wrought Iron, Giltwood and Scagliola Center or Dining Table

About the Item

A beautiful and most decorative Italian 19th century Verdigris wrought iron, giltwood and Scagliola center/dining table. The table is raised by a beautiful wrought iron base with fine mottled block feet and elegantly scrolled supports connected by a lovely stretcher with exceptional foliate designs. Above is the spectacular Scagliola plateau with a central reserve of Poseidon with horses framed within a red border. The borders intertwine with lovely colorful panels and four urns with flowers. An intricately detailed band with scrolled rinceaux movements extends along the sides with charming cherubs, maidens, birds and animals hiding and playing amidst the foliage. The plateau is framed within an elegant mottled giltwood border.
