About

A rare, early Flavigny dining table designed by Jean Prouvé, manufactured by Ateliers Jean Prouvé, circa 1945. Bent sheet metal frame with limestone top. Top is a later replacement which is very common of this early table.

Note from the Jean Prouvé monograph by Galerie Patrick Seguin Paris, p. 422: “The original tops have often been lost, as their friable material had low resistance to impacts and bending stress.”
