This table, crafted in the 1950s from walnut, presents a distinctively geometric form that speaks both to the craftsmanship of its time and to a certain forward-looking design sensibility. Measuring 368 cm I 144.88 inch in width, the top is shaped in a non-standard polygon – neither purely rectangular nor fully boat-shaped – with chamfered ends that subtly taper in. This nuanced form feels considered, deliberate, and not merely decorative. The base construction moves away from conventional leg placement, choosing instead a bold, sculptural central support. Thick angled panels intersect at the middle, grounding the structure while allowing for a cantilevered visual effect – especially from side angles. These supports split into angular, wide-set feet, each cut with precision, enhancing the table’s architectural presence. At the core, an angled central volume anchors the piece. Walnut, as the chosen material, adds further depth. Its natural warm tones and visible grain play off the clean planes and sharp angles, softening the otherwise assertive geometry.
