About the Item
A remarkable restored pedestal bamboo cluster center or dining table by the Visionary Budji Layug, circa 1980. Large, mature stalks of cut bamboo cleverly constructed as a table base designed to shoulder a large heavy glass top. Stout and exceptionally crafted, built like a battleship. The stunning tobacco finish has mellowed to absolute perfection. Design and engineering that is beyond incredible- an organic masterpiece. Excellent restored condition. The base has been professionally cleaned and re-lacquered; the bamboo displays a rich range of color. Lacquer finish with fabulous depth and luster. The base is 37 inches in diameter. The 72 inch diameter glass top pictured is included. The table is constructed to accommodate a much larger and heavier piece of glass, if desired. Measurements listed are per the existing top.
