Mid-Century Rosewood French Dining Table

About the Item

Dining table from the mid-century period in France made with a beautiful rosewood veneered top. There is a striking parquetry top with a chevron pattern. The design is outlined with a lemon wood inlay. The apron of the table has a stepped design. The four legs are tapered and squared. The legs are ebonized and capped with brass feet. The table has been finished with a lustrous French polish finish of museum-quality. The table is in excellent vintage condition – the photos accurately depict the condition. Originating in the 1950s-1960s, the Mid-Century Modern movement was based on functionality, simplicity, and an organic elegance. Many designers of the period championed the concept that good design could be for everyone. The material itself was used to create the design and dynamic beauty of the piece instead of relying on decorative ornamentation. New technologies gave way to new materials, such as vinyl and resin.
