Tréology is about connecting people to nature through functional art. Odyssey was created after a road trip to New Zealand's wild West Coast to observe nature’s craft work. Looking deep into nature, we saw the layered rock formations along the sea coast and rivers of New Zealand to achieve a functional table base. The design progression sought to bring layering metaphors into the piece, but a solid mass would be visually too heavy. The solution was to add volume through the introduction of negative space and deliver an abstract representation of the rocks and boulders we observed. This gorgeous 96-inch by 40-inch table features a one-of-a-kind organic distressed top in our weathered stain. Our organic distress finish celebrates the natural imperfections of the teak with a sandblasted finish to bring out the grain and a live edge on two sides in honor of the tree it came from.
