Sheraton Period Oval Mahogany and Yew Pembroke Table
About the Item
The central bed of the top is veneered in radiating sections of figured ‘flame’ mahogany surrounding a central oval of burr yew wood. The edge of the top as well as the central oval are outlined with banding (possibly tulipwood) and stringing. The D-shaped drop leaves are similarly veneered. Standing on tapering legs which end in the original casters. Retaining a magnificent, untouched surface. There is a frieze drawer in one end. Inside the drawer is a label from Norman Adams, Ltd. of London. The table is 28.25" x 21" with the leaves down and 28.25" x 39.5" with the leaves up.
