About the Item

An extraordinarily rare, interesting and highly unusual hand-sculptured Ostrich foot that creates a one of a kind work of both fine taxidermy and American folk art. Exceptionally executed, hand carved and painted where needed, the exotic bird, a common African Ostrich. The large avian pair of two toed feet positioned facing opposing sides, the formidable claw protruding out over the molded edge of the circular wooden base, evoking thoughts of their great distant ancestor, the Velociraptor dinosaur. The pair mounted vertical, with legs supporting the round wooden tabletop. The hardwood top having rich, warm aged wood coloring, warm, rustic hues, superb grain patterns, and beautiful patina. From a fine private estate in Dallas, Texas. Dimensions: (approx) 24" high, 18" wide, 17.5" deep. Top: 17.5" diameter Great condition. Original vintage condition, may have very minor wear. Structurally sound. Due to the nature of the table, it is not recommend or designed to support significant weight. We do not recommend using it as a stool or seating of any kind. Delivered deep cleaned, waxed and ready for immediate use.
