Polished Steel Trivet
About the Item
A polished steel stand originally used to hold hot kettles and pots next to a fireplace and known as a trivet. Rectangular polished top with ogee cutout handle on polished steel cabriole front legs with wrought iron H stretcher featuring double heart center and wrought iron back legs ending in penny feet. Also featuring hinged brass handles to sides. English, circa 1830. Now a superior drinks stand next to a sofa or armchair.
