Chestnut Wood Table from Northern Spain
This rustic table is made of natural chestnut wood with the typical color of the passage of time. The top of the table is made with a single wooden board from a single tree, without joints.
The exact age of its manufacture cannot be determined, since it is a piece of furniture without any kind of decoration or ornamentation. This type of table was in the kitchens or pantries of rural houses, places where family food was prepared or an informal snack was taken. The name by which they are known is "bacon tables". They come in many sizes, I suppose depending on the size and importance of the house. In this case it is a table considered very large.
These tables are appreciated in these times, especially for rustic decorations, both indoors and outdoors. By having clean wood with its natural color and the patina of time, it gives a warm and homely appearance, combined with fabrics and natural fibers such as linen or cotton, as well as bamboo and cane or rattan.
