About the Item
An elegant and high quality French 18th century Louis XVI Period Mahogany games table. This wonderful "tric trac" table is raised by slender circular tapered and fluted legs, fitted with casters and Ormolu sabots. The straight and tall apron displays a single drawer to the right, with an Ormolu pull to each side, which is also repeated on the back. Above is the most charming removable black and gilt tooled leather top with elegant Ormolu corner guards, and which lifts to a reveal a green felt card surface on the opposite side. The top lifts to reveal the exquisite Ebony and Bone interior backgammon board, fitted with Bone peg holes to keep score and flanked by Mahogany game surfaces at each end.
