French 18th Century Louis XVI Period Mahogany “Tric Trac” Games Table

About the Item

A superb French 18th century Louis XVI period mahogany "tric trac" games table. The table is raised by elegant slender circular fluted tapered legs finished with ormolu casters. The straight apron displays a drawer to the right and a faux drawer to the left each decorated with an ormolu pull and repeated at both the front and back of the table. The original removable top displays a fitted black leather surface with fine gold tooled details on one side and a beautiful chessboard on the other. The top lifts off to reveal the exquisite ebony and ivory interior backgammon board and fitted ivory peg holes for candle cups and score counting.
