French 19th Century Louis XV St. Flip Top Games Table
About the Item
A beautiful and very unique French 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, and ormolu flip top games table. The table is raised by elegant slender cabriole legs with high quality pierced scrolled foliate fitted ormolu sabots and richly chased acanthus leaf corner mounts. The scalloped shaped apron displays charming intricately detailed inlaid floral designs repeated at the front, sides, back, and top set on an exceptional veneered background showcasing the beautiful wood grain and framed within a mottled ormolu gallery. The top pivots in a unique and extremely decorative manner to access the storage compartment and fold open to reveal the fitted gold tooled leather games surface.
