About the Item
Very rare matched pair of George II (1727-1760) mahogany Irish game tables with original petit point inserts. Original, untouched finish. Accordion action for top support, that once extended, provides full apron around table. Intricately carved cabriole legs ending in scroll feet. Cross band inlay around tops. Each table has a single drawer for gaming pieces and indentations for candle illumination at all four corners. Petit point done in Chinoiserie motif.
