About the Item
An elegant, rigorous and sculptural side table or nightstand, Art Deco, Modernist, Neo-Classical, hammered wrought iron structure with a celadon green marble square top, in the spirit of Edgar Brandt, to be attributed, France 1930s. This is a rare example of french elegance of the 30's, combining strong architectural lignes with intuitive sensuality, simple and/but luxurious materials without any shinny effect : the real luxury.
The bases of these four table legs are subtly sculpted (reminiscent of the characteristic lines found in Diego Giacometti's designs), creating a beautiful and sensual three-dimensional effect, while the marble top is framed by a slightly offset wrought iron border. These unexpected details give this small table its unique character and architectural appeal, making it ideal as a side table, or a nightstand, perfect for displaying a vase, a lamp, a decorative plate or just a tray...
