French Louis XVI style ormolu mounted carved mahogany marble top desserte early 20th century, the brass galleried, oval Breche d’alps tan marble top on four reeded cabriole supports to a lower oval brass bound mahogany shelf with handles on turned tapered, reeded legs with ormolu sabots. A lovely and important French Belle Epoch period two-tier desserte handcrafted from rich mahogany in the early 20th century, exceptionally executed in Louis XV taste, having an oval shaped marble top, over mahogany with superb grain detail oval-shaped lower tier, gracefully rising on gilt-bronze ormolu mounted supports. Sophisticated and elegant, with a comfortable warmth, as attractive as it is functional, the beautiful antique, circa 1910, can be used many different ways, including as a side table, centre gueridon, tea table, cocktail server, dining room dumbwaiter, bedside nightstand, or as a charming accent piece.
