Antique Georgian Oak Side Table with Single Drawer, England, Circa 1800-1830
About the Item
A charming English Georgian oak side table, circa 1800–1830, with elegant cabriole legs and a single drawer featuring Chippendale style brass batwing pulls. Crafted from solid oak, this table showcases the hand-planed surface and rich patina characteristic of early 19th-century provincial furniture.
The top is composed of thick oak planks, joined with visible pegged construction, a hallmark of authentic Georgian-era craftsmanship. A single drawer slides within the apron, framed by exposed peg joinery.
Distinctive cabriole legs taper gracefully downward, terminating in subtle pad feet, reflecting the lingering influence of Queen Anne styling within early Georgian rural furniture. The apron is scalloped only on the sides, lending a decorative yet understated detail, while the front remains unembellished, allowing the natural beauty of the aged oak to shine.
With its warm, timeworn patina and sturdy construction, this antique English side table is well-suited as a hall table, writing desk, or accent piece in a classic, country, or farmhouse interior.
