French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Belle Époque Period Display Table
About the Item
A sensational and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period mahogany and ormolu display table, attributed to Henry Dasson. The table is raised by most elegant slender circular tapered legs with ormolu topie shaped feet and mottled top caps. The bottom tier showcases the beautiful mahogany grain framed within an ormolu gallery with a Fine fluted pattern. The four supports above display an exceptional and most decorative square tapered quiver shaped design with striking foliate palmette designs, beaded spiral fillets leading up to square foliate top caps. Above each leg are elegant square recessed reserves flanking the straight apron decorated with stunning pierced fitted ormolu plaques with beautiful finely detailed scrolled Rinceaux designs and a richly chased floral bouquet at the center. Above is the original beveled glass display window framed within a Fine mottled and beaded ormolu band and mahogany border that opens to reveal the upholstered inside and all original hardware.
