About the Item
A stunning and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, Ormolu , Burl Walnut and Vert Patricia marble side/center table, signed Tahan, Paris. The Bouillotte table is raised by four circular tapered fluted legs decorated by Ormolu sabots before the solid Mahogany tier surrounded by an elegant Ormolu gallery and leading up to Ormolu chandelles. The top of each leg is also decorated by a reeded Ormolu band with an 'X' ribbon like design. The handsome apron above is decorated by recessed Burl Walnut panels surrounded by beaded mottled Ormolu bands and centered by wonderful circular Ormolu pulls. The four recessed panels are flanked by protruding blocks decorated by rectangular shaped Ormolu rosettes. At the top lays its original Vert Patricia marble which is surrounded by an attractive pierced Ormolu gallery with Greek key design. All original gilt and patina throughout.
