About the Item
A French faux bois table from the mid 20th century, with round top and rustic appearance. Created in France during the midcentury period, this faux bois table features a circular faux bois slab top and tree trunk base. The construction is concrete "faux bois" with metal supports inside. Particularly popular in France during the later years of the 19th century through the 1940s, the faux bois technique (translating as false wood) allowed artists to use various media to imitate wood. If you ever stroll through the romantic paths of the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in Paris, you will be able to appreciate early examples of this style. A great example of this style, this French midcentury faux bois table will bring a touch of authenticity to any home!
