French Midentury Brass & Lacquer Square Bedside Tables
About the Item
A dramatic pair of square bedside tables or side tables from mid-20th century France, in the style of Maison Baguès, crafted in brass and black lacquer. The brass frames show wonderful depth of color from bronze to smoky oxidation as they taper down to the floor. Tiny artichoke finials with remarkable texture cap each of the legs as ornamental touch. The black lacquer top surfaces are variably patinated, showing an etched, matte finish. One small drawer is suspended from the underside, opening by a tiny brass knob, and lined with black velveteen. A lower shelf, also lacquered, offers additional storage and display area. These thoughtful occasional tables are sure to delight in a multitude of interior tastes from maximalism to richly layered traditional. Please view the detailed images. Sold as a pair.
