George III Serpentine Front Table With Chinese Chippendale Fret Legs, 18th c.

About the Item

An unusually fine and elegant Georgian mahogany flip top table with extraordinary details: a bold serpentine form, guilloche carving on the table top edge, finely executed Chinese fret on all four legs, and very detailed original hardware. The table can be displayed and used in a variety of configurations: side table, console table or game table. A swing leg in the back pivots out to support the flip top for use as a card table. Late 18th century. Good antique condition, sturdy, with signs of age: some dings, dark marks. H: 28 ¾ W: 31 ½ D: 18 ½ Depth Open: 37”
